Today's Preparations

My mom is comign into town tomorrow, and I have a HUGE list of things that need to be done before she gets here. Things that should already be done, but somehow aren't, like the mounding dishes in my kitchen... it's bad around here.

The girls and I are so excited have my parents come for a visit! They have been asking everday if today is the day. I explained to them how many nights we would have to sleep, and what we would fill our days with, until it was time to get Grandma from the airport, so they have been counting down with me. BUT, it's the most useful tool in getting them to pick up their toys and things! I jsut tell them that it has to be clean for G to come, and so they hurry and pick up, then ask little Brooklyne ran to the window, looked out, and said sadly, "I don't see their car yet." I thought it was super funny, especially given that they aren't even driving here, whatever. Totally cute.

So as for my speed cleaning today, this is about all that has to happen:

clean bathrooms (3 of 'em)
dishes -Done
sweep/mop kitchen floor
Finishing sorting toys for give-away
Pack away all sorted baby clothing -Done
Laundry -Washed, not folded yet
Rearrange Tristan's room to accomodate G&G -Done
My office: everything!
Clean out car

I think that's all for now. I'll cross 'em off when I get 'em done.

That's my to-do list, what's yours?

Edit: Well, my mom is here already, and has to use the sticky bathroom, sorry mom! ANd she also had to ride in my car littered with water bottles, and chidlren's toys... bummer. Anyway, I did get most of the list done, which I'm happy about. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get the rest done, while Grandma is occuppying the kiddos... isn't that what Grandma's are for?!!

Sick!

Not as in gross, as in not feeling well!
So, here, what's the deal with this? We have had a totally terrible morning... everyone slept in, I'm all congested, so we didn't really do much. I pushed off going to the gym until "later" to play with some sewing projects. I mean, what else better to do on a day that you are feeling under the weather? But then there's kids... 3 of 'em... where'd they come from? Oh, yep, they're all mine! So, thankfully one goes back to sleep pretty often, that's a life saver. The other two... are crazy. They ran around, they watched a movie, they snuck snacks out of the pantry, they helped themselves to pouring their own sippy cup of Orange juice. Where was I? Why didn't I see the little 3 year old crazy invading the fridge? Apparently the congestion had made me completely oblivious.

After awhile, I realized that if we didn't get out and do something today would be the end of me. So it took all I had to go pack my bag and get clothes out for dressing so we could head to the gym (it's the only place I can go without spending money. And I get in shape too, I guess it's not that bad!) Anyway, as the clock ticked onward, the babe was still sleeping, so we waited; I watched The People's Court (yeah, I actually like that one!) and helped myself to a Pepsi, which was much needed... but then again... where are my kids? No, just joking, they were there with me, trying to snatch some of my ever so savored soda, and whining that they didn't like my show, they wanted to watch a kid show. It was then that I realized it was nearly 1 o'clock, and we had done nothing. So I got my rear in gear, and set to leave. I then looked at another clock and realized, it was NOT 1 p.m. it was 2. TWO. Where had my day gone? Now we were in a hurry, I couldn't believe it.

Alright, so onto the "point".... I was so irritable this morning, with not feeling well, and my kids being SO bored... but I felt SOOOO good at the gym. my congestion was gone, I was in a zone, in a quite element, kid free... it was bliss. I even thought that as I jogged my 45 minutes (for real). But then, upon getting everyone loaded back in the car to come home, and upon entering the hosue, where which I had to put the spoiled baby down to put away all my stuff, and she started screaming. I wondered, how could someone feel so blah, then leave, feel great as long at they are away, and then the second upon returning return right back to the state of "blah"?

Is it because my house is less than perfectly clean? Or is it because home has such a sense of relaxing, adn so when I come home I jsut don't want to keep doing it, or what? Anyway, my whole day has passed and the only productive things that have happened ALL day long is that Tristan got all her naps, and I got a run in. Ooohh, and a shower.

Blech, Tag

What's the deal with e-tag anyway? I don't get it, any of it. But, Just to entertain everyone. AND since I haven't posted in nearly a week... I shall go ahead, and proceed to fill out the horrific tag survey, and let you all in on a few little secrets of my life. Well, maybe secrets, maybe you already know everything! (Oh yeah, in case you wanted to know... that pic of me is from like a year-ish ago. I know, kind of old, but it's my favorite hairdo I've had in a long time, so I love it. Also, it's too small, because I don't have the original, only my avatar, because my hard drive crashed last year, and I don't have the pictures anymore. Sad.)

Four places I've lived

1. The Alamo
2. Keep it Weird
3. Mile High City
4. Little Apple

Four favorite books (I try not to read, it takes up too much of my time. But when I find spare time, these are some of my faves)

1. Harry Potter series
2. Dr. Suess (Hey, children's books can get boring, these are always fulfilling to me.)
3. Wrinkle in Time (a childhood favorite)
4. Any other LDS fictional story

Four Favorite Movies (I love lots of movies, but these are some than I never really get tired of watching)

1. Back to the future (all 3)
2. X-men movies
3. Spider-Man movies
4. Titanic

Four embarrassing facts about me

1. I have issues. I WAY over think everything.
2. I'm kind of loud -it can be embarassing sometimes.
3. I'm way too opinionated, so sometimes, just when trying to tell people what I think, it comes across as me being really heated or debate-ish about it.
4. I totally lack organization in my own home. And um, otten times my house gets a little over-due for a good clean.

Four dreams of mine (I gave those up when I became a mom, right?)

1. to always remember how beautiful and special my girls are as babies, even as they grow up into beautful young women.
2. To live a long happy life with TJ. And to keep smiling as we go through it.
3. To someday have the time to revisit photography as a business venture.
4. To have the "cool" house when my kids are teenagers. Or atleast have them think it's as cool, as my house when I was a teenager.

Four pet Peeves

1. People. Yeah, plain and simple, other people. Mostly people that are driving.
2. whining. I hear a lot of that from my kids. But specifically, I don't like the whining when it's something over them knowing how to do something, but too lazy to do it.
3. Yeah, Toys. I think it should not be customary to give toys as gifts for presents.
4. Did I mention people? Did I mention people that drive? How about People that work in pathetic customer service fields that can NEVER help you. Or how about People that work in phone sales fields, and they refuse to take your number off the list? Yeah, people.

Four things that make me really happy

1. When my girls share, or help each other with something. It's pretty rewarding to know that maybe something I told them or taught them has actually stuck.
2. It made me truly happy when my kids asked where their scriptures were, they wanted to take them to church and read them. I hope that sticks for a long time too!
3. TJ. Yeah, he makes me happy; when we have silly fun together. It makes me happy to tickle his feet, and know he hates it!
4. My mom. Always knowing that a best friend is only a phone call away. Good thing long distance is free these days!

Tag four people

Well, since I don't LOOOOVVVEE this game... how about I tag everybody.. therefore if you truly despise it you don't have to do it. BUT, if you don't mind it, I'd love to know what your pet-peeves are. (Did I mention that people seriously bug me? hhmm)

Seriously.

Yeah, seriously; I seriously LOVE this little girl!
I love her chub cheeks, and her enormously too long pants.
I love her smile, and little dimples, and I love her small mass of ver blonde-ish hair!
And I also love that she's a Daddy's little girl -just like all the rest!

More than just a basket

I know, isn't she SO cute! So... my office is past due for a good cleaning, and since I needed to be in here (posting pictures) Tristan had to suffer. But she keeps grabbing at the keyboard, and mouse, and other objects on my desk, so I had to contain her momentarily until I was done. The only thing hadny enough was this basket, which worked perfectly.

Yeah, she didn't think it was that cool, and only lasted about 10 minutes!

As the other girls were eating lunch today, Tristan looks spectacularly cute in this super-purple shirt, so here are a few pics of her.

And of course, with Daddy! She LOVES to stand, no sign of desiring to walk (which I'm fine with, she's only 9 months) But she does love to stand!

Okay, if you are just tuning in, check out below, there are lots of posts and pictures today. As well, don't forget to check the photo album, I'll put the whole take there!

Pet Jazmine

Here's how the story goes: The other morning at breakfast the girls were talking about their new friend Emma and how she has a bunny. They were so excited that Emma could have a pet, so they asked if we could have a pet.... hhhmmm... I'm anti-pets, and I thought this day would come many more years down the road, not now! But, I thought it was funny. I asked them what kind of pet they wanted, they told me a bunny -like Emma's. I said no.

I asked if they wanted a dog (which they don't like), they got all scared and whimpery and said no. They one of them had a light-bulb go off in her head... "How about a CAT!" they shout. Then I couldn't contain the giggles. I didn't even answer I just called TJ to tell them how cute it was.

Later that same day we were driving around, and they saw.... the PET STORE. How do they even know what the pet store is? We've never been. I asked Madison how she knew, she said, "There's a blue doggy and a red cat over there. That's the pet store!" Yep, she was right. And they wanted to go, right then. I pushed it off by telling them that maybe we could come back with Daddy. -Good enough, for the time being.

TODAY: we head to the gym, and I run inside to get a water, and right next to the fridge I find this:

Yeah, they totally got their kitty out, and set it up with a bowl of water. For real, I could have died laughing! So this is them later scratching their cat, because, didn't you know? -kitties like that! Oh yes, and when asked what the cat's name was, Madison told me her name was Jazmine, because Grandma has a kitty named Jazmine!
Edit: Quick addition... we went to the pet store tonite to look at the animals, just as a treat for the girls. They totally LOVED it. Someone had brought their puppy dachshund and pug, they were SO cute, the girls even went up and pet them and everything. Although the kitties, hamsters and fish were still big winners. I love to take my kids to stores like that, it is so fun to see the sparkles in their eyes as they go form one thing to the next. It's the same joy I get out of taking them to ToysRus... I think it makes me feel like a kid again, but in a whole other fulfilling way. Anyway, totally fun family date tonite.

Cold Crawl

Yummy, bananas! This was her first taste of real bananas ( you know, not squashed and canned!) She didn't really love them, but she liked having something to chew on, and hang out in her high chair -which she loves!

Tristan has been "crawling" now for sometime. But she hasn't been crawling on her knees. The only time she will do it is when she happens to go through the kitchen with nothing covering her stomach. I guess she doesn't like that the floor is cold! So here is older sister "teaching" her how, or rather mocking the way she is up on her feet!

Yeah, she's naked because she got banana all over her! Maybe I should start makign her crawl around naked, then she'd learn how!
